Interpretation of Strangeness and its Impact on the Local Society in Beregdéda, Transcarpathia

My work focuses on the different patterns of experiencing strangeness. Based my ethnographic fieldwork in Beregdéda, Transcarpathia, Ukraine, I try to reflect why articulation strangeness becomes necessary, and how does appearance stranger modify, erode, rebuild or create symbolic boundaries between Hungarian-Ukrainian-Gypsy ethnic groups living together. At time fieldwork, spring 2015, Ukrainian-Russian war conflict provided a breeding ground for stereotypical perceptions ethnicity, while tourist also led strengthening relationship Ukrainians, Hungarians Gypsies local society, formation united front. The understanding is constantly changing line with various regional global cultural economic processes formulated individual interests mind.
